Spencer Welch

ImageAfter a successful career as a recording artist, studio musician, and producer, Spencer Welch is a Certified Speech Level Singing™ (SLS) Master Instructor keenly qualified to help aspiring and professional singers develop healthy, marketable voices. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Spencer is one of the premier vocal coaches in North America, often called upon to prepare recording artists and actors for studio, concert, theatre and film work. His clients include artists signed to Universal, Interscope, Capitol, and Integrity Hosanna.

Prior to establishing the Spencer Welch Vocal Studio in 1997, Spencer toured the US, Canada, and South America for four years as a member of the recording group Rhythm & News on Word Records. He also sang, played keyboards, and produced recordings for legendary artist Randy Bachman. Spencer recorded and toured as the keyboardist/vocalist for Reunion Records' Carolyn Arends, sharing the stage with Sixpence None the Richer, the Newsboys, and Phil Keaggy. At the 2008 GMA Canada Covenant Awards, Spencer received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the Canadian music industry.

After twelve years of Speech Level Singing™ training with its founder Seth Riggs and his top instructors, Spencer is certified as a Level 5, the highest level possible. As a member of the elite Instructor Management Team (IMT), Spencer is one of eight SLS Master Instructors in the world and a leading expert in the field of vocal function and application. Spencer trains Speech Level Singing™ teachers the world over and travels to lecture on vocal technique.

With a life spent on the road and in the studio, Spencer understands the challenges vocalists face.  Whether he is warming up a recording artist before a concert or working with a complete beginner, Spencer is passionately committed to taking singers to a whole new level.
